The Mount Athos Center is continuing its tradition of International Scientific Workshops by organising the sixth workshop in succession, the proceedings of which will be held in person from Friday 9 until Sunday 11 December 2022 in the ‘Stephanos Dragoumis’ Auditorium of the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki.
The subject matter of the Workshop papers is directly concerned with different aspects of Mount Athos, such as its history, art, theology, law, institutions, literature, archaeology, art history, architecture, natural environment and the conservation of its art works etc.
At this year’s Workshop a total of 27 papers will be presented by scholars specialising in different fields of Athonite research from Greece, America, England, Germany, Georgia, Ukraine and Serbia.
The opening ceremony of the Sixth Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday 9 December 2022 in the ‘Stephanos Dragoumis’ Auditorium of the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki.
The proceedings will commence on Friday evening, continue throughout Saturday and come to an end on Sunday 11 December, in accordance with the following programme:
Friday 9 December: 18:00-21:00
Saturday 10 December: 10:00-14:30 and 17:00-21:30
Sunday 11 December: 11:00-15:30

Each presentation at the Workshop will last 20 minutes, after which there will be a period of 10 minutes for related discussion.

Certificates of attendance will be issued to all those who wish to receive them, provided they attend the sessions on all three days of the Workshop.
Throughout the duration of the Workshop, in the foyer of the auditorium there will be a display of the Mount Athos Center’s publications, which will be on sale at half-price.
