Talk – Workshop Tim Vyner A life experience on Mt. Athos

The Mount Athos Center, in collaboration with the Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, is organising a presentation of the work produced by the British painter Tim Vyner during his visits to Mount Athos.
The event will take place on Wednesday 9 April 2025, at 11:00, in Amphitheatre B on the second floor of the Theology Faculty building and will commence with an opening address by the Dean of the Faculty, Protopresbyter Athanasios Gkikas. This will be followed by an address by the Director of the Mount Athos Center, Mr. Anastasios Douros, who will talk about the Center’s collaboration with Tim Vyner and the artist’s work.

Photography exhibition ‘THE SCENE OF THE UNSEEN: Mount Athos by Tomasz Mościcki’

This year the Mount Athos Center is once again participating in the events of the ‘Devotional Week’ festival organised by the Municipality of Thessaloniki by staging a photography exhibition entitled ‘The Scene of the Unseen: Mount Athos by Tomasz Mościcki’.
The exhibition will be officially opened on Tuesday 8 April, at 18.30, by the Mayor of Thessaloniki and President of the Board of Directors of the Mount Athos Center, Mr. Stelios Angeloudis.

Once again the Mount Athos Center is organising its annual International Scientific Workshop, which is now well established as one of the leading fora for scientists and scholars engaged in research on Mount Athos. This year’s workshop will be the eighth (8th) and will be held on Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December 2024 in the ‘Stephanos Dragoumis’ Auditorium of the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki.

On Saturday 26 October 2024, at the Mount Athos Center in Thessaloniki, Her Excellency President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will officially open the exhibition entitled ‘Artistic Journey on Mount Athos’, which features works by Greek artists from the period 1922-1995 borrowed from the collections of the Thessaloniki Municipal Art Gallery, the Teloglion Arts Foundation of Aristotle University, the Society for Macedonian Studies, the Central Library of Aristotle University, the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Holy Monastery of Dionysiou, the Mount Athos Art Archive (Holy Monastery of Simonopetra) and the Holy Convent of the Annunciation at Ormylia.
